Under the bright lights of Daytona International Speedway, American Flat Track will unveil its re-envisioning of America’s most historic form of motorcycle racing as the series kicks off the 2017 season by moving inside the world’s only motorsports stadium on March 16 for the inaugural DAYTONA TT.

A New Era

DAYTONA TT marks the first time in 20 years that the AFT has raced a TT track on twin-cylinder motorcycles. Additionally, the event will begin in a new age of competition as this is also the first time that factory efforts from Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle have competed head-to-head since 1953.

DAYTONA TT will feature two classes of bikes: Powerful, twin-cylinder motorcycles in the AFT Twins class and spirited single-cylinder machines in AFT Singles.

The Course

While DAYTONA Flat Track races of the past have been held on dirt ovals, this race will be held on a one-of-a-kind .6-mile TT course, which has incorporated turns in both directions and a jump into the track design.

The course, designed by seven-time DAYTONA Flat Track Champion Chris Carr, will be built under the DAYTONA Supercross by Honda course. The fastest portion of the course will be a long, angling straightaway running parallel to the asphalt track, with top speeds expected to reach 100 mph.
